Ann Rickenbaker Fairey

Ann Rickenbaker Fairey, 86, of North, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 30, 2025, at North United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Rucker, Rev. Richard Toy and Lay Pastor Charlie Inglett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary prior to the service and other times at the home of Tommy and Sharon Fairey, 752 Lydia Dr., Pelion, S. C. 29123. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 563 Jones Bridge Road, North, S. C. 29112.

Mrs. Fairey was born in Greenwood, S. C., a daughter of the late Clarence (C.F.) Rickenbaker and the late Lula Creswell Rickenbaker. Ann was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, H.B. Fairey, Jr. A retired educator of 42 years, Ann impacted generations through her dedication to teaching and learning. She loved traveling, trips to the beach, and most of all, her family and her church. Her life revolved around those she loved and the faith she lived daily. Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother, affectionately known as “Meme”. She was known for her sharp wit, exceptional intelligence and her remarkable ability to listen. Always involved, always present, Ann was pillar of her church community.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy (Sharon) Fairey and Robby Fairey (Dana Copeland); grandchildren, Brooke Fairey (Brett), Dylan Fairey (Carrie), Tyler Fairey (Amber), Lauren Fairey (Junior) and Allie Fairey; great-grandchildren, Parker, Teagan, Tatum, Tallen and Noa Kate; sisters-in-law, Ann (T.W.) Reeves and Carol Winn; brother-in-law, Tommy Fairey. Ann was predeceased by sisters, Frankie Rickenbaker and Julia Rickenbaker; a brother, John T. (Butch) Rickenbaker and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Merrill Fogle, Chris Ulmer and Windy Eidson for their time and love shown to Ms. Ann.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, 10 McClennan Banks Dr., Charleston, S. C. 29425 or Curing Kids Cancer, 3341 Regent. Blvd., Irving, Texas 75063.
