Betty Jean Sturkie Hutto, 75, of Gaston, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Pleasant Pines Baptist Church in Gaston with Rev. John Richburg officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00, Sunday at the church before the funeral. Mrs. Hutto was born in Lexington County, a daughter of the late Leonard W. and Nancy E. Sharpe Goodwin.She was a member of Pleasant Pines Church. Survivors include a son, Carl Sturkie, Jr.; sisters, Effie G. Boldt and Irene G. Goff; and also a number of nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by a son, Ronnie Gene Sturkie and also four sisters.
