Mrs. Crim was born in Springfield. S. C., a daughter of the late Henry Young and Ola Lee Tindall Whetstone. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church until it’s closing.
Before she became ill, she loved to cook for her family and made the best chicken and homemade dumplings you have ever tasted. She also loved the outdoors, working in her yard and had a yard full of beautiful flowers. She was very outgoing and never met a stranger. She would follow visitors out to their cars and offer them flowers to plant in their yard, making sure to tell them what to do to make them grow. She also had a way of saying things that would bring laughter to everyone she knew.
Dell is survived by her daughter, Teresa Gartman (Steve) and a son, Ronald Crim (Ellen); grandchildren; Brittany Smith (Rhett), Cheyenne Knight (Dennis) and Jacob Crim; great grandchildren; Abigail, David and William Knight and Lucas and Brooklyn Smith as well as a brother, Samuel Whetstone. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Leroy A. (L.A.) Crim, Jr.; sisters; Virginia Berry, Henrietta Toole, Jewel (Peggy) Baker, Bertha Mae Slaughter, and Doris Jacobs; brothers; Wilson Ray Whetstone, Alfred Hollis Young, Lewis Henry Young and Marion Young.
