James Marion Axson

James Marion Axson, 85, of North, S. C. passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Hopewell Southern Methodist Church, 1715 Ninety-Six Road, North, S. C. with Dr. John T. Hucks, Jr. officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:30 PM, one hour prior to the service, in the church.

Mr. Axson was born in North, S. C., a son of the late Marion James Axson and the late Frances Rachael Boles Axson.  James Marion was a member of Hopewell Southern Methodist Church, retired from Aiken Electric Coop., and served his country in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Martha Anne Jones Axson; son, James Malcolm “Jim” Axson (Lisa) ; two granddaughters, Dr. Ashley Elizabeth Axson-Clements (Jacob) and Rebecca Anne Axson (Wesley); great granddaughter, Elizabeth Sawyer Clements; brother, Wayne Axson (Lynn); one niece, Tammy Sensow and two nephews, Sam Axson (Michelle) and Jeffrey Axson (Erin).
