James Steven Hayes

James Steven "Gabby" Hayes, 57, of Batesburg, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

A memorial service will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 112 Daniel Drive, Leesville, SC 29070.

Mr. Hayes was born in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of Katherine McHugh Hayes and the late George P. Hayes, Jr. He was a former firefighter in Warren, Rhode Island and was the owner of H&H Auto Repair. James was a member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Angela C. Hydrick; a son, Alex Michael Hayes; stepsons, Kyle Dickey (Carissa) and Michael Bouchette (Jordan); a brother, George (Debbie) Hayes, III; a sister, Laurie (Eddie) Nassar; and his four-legged companions, Sophie and Uzi.
