Kay Frances Jumper

Heaven just got a little stronger when the fighting spirit of Kay Frances Jumper entered it’s gates. Frances walked a path standing firm in her beliefs, thoughts and especially her love for her family. No matter where her 4 children were in life, there you would find her standing on the wall willing to protect and nurture them. She was a rock of loyalty, and you knew when she was in your corner. That same fighting spirit also meant sometimes hearing her say things that she felt you needed to hear. Her words always came from a loving place and is the hallmark of who she was.

Before his passing, she was married to her fun-spirited husband, Garland Thomas Jumper Jr. just shy of 44 years. She was not a spoiled woman, but in fact he never said the word “no” to any whim she had. Those whims were stitched in place by her zest for life. Frances had a desire to see new things, try new recipes, and have new experiences. She was not afraid to take on a challenge and always kept herself busy. She enjoyed any house project especially her love for outdoor plants. You would often find her with her garden hose watering her plants morning and evening. When she wasn’t nurturing her plants, she would spend her time painting flowerpots and antiques. Frances was crafty when crafty wasn’t cool and there is nothing, she liked better than a can of spray paint. She shared that love of crafting with her sister Rosa where they attended many craft shows throughout South Carolina as vendors. This crafting and cooking duo also cooked and catered for many weddings and events.

While being a wife and mother, Frances also had a varied career where she always worked hard and left her mark. Sewing rooms, psychiatric facility, nursing home and most recently her own in-home daycare where she delighted in being a grandmother figure to many children over the years. The way Frances expressed herself will leave an indelible mark on every facet of life for her loved ones she leaves behind.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents William and Gertharine Lovett, a brother Wayne Lovett (Marilyn) and sisters Rosa Davis (Edgar) and Barbara Knight (Thomas). Last but not least, she is preceded in death by her once in a lifetime loving husband Thomas Jumper Jr. Missing her dearly will be her 4 children Suzanne Borawski, Gracie Lynch (Randal), Thomas Jumper (Pamela) and Jeffery Jumper (RoseAnn). She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Paula Heyward (Lee), Keith Brazell, Alex Jumper (Callee), Katie Harley (David), Ariana Benjamin (Austin), Malorie Jumper (Carinna) and Hudson Jumper. The privilege of hearing stories about her for many years will fall on the ears of her 5 great grandchildren, Madison Drafts, Alaina Drafts, Dawson Harley, Theodore Benjamin and Harper Jumper.

While being surrounded by her loved ones, Frances died peacefully in Lexington, SC in the home she shared with her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and RoseAnn Jumper. The family would like to give a special thanks to all doctors, nurses, technicians and hospice workers who gave their all for her health and comfort.

Visitation will be at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North, SC on Tuesday July 28, 2026, at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm. Graveside service will take place immediately after at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery 1601 Saint Matthews Road, Swansea, SC 29160.
