Lorenzo Chavis

Lorenzo Chavis, 78, of Swansea, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Graveside services will be at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Mr. Chavis was born in Orangeburg County a son of the late Jeffie and Rosa Williamson Chavis.He was retired from Carolina Eastern.He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Jumper Chavis, a special nephew, Burle “Lee” Jumper, Jr. and a step-grandson, Shawn Galbreath. Survivors include his step-daughter, Sylvia (Larry) Galbreath and step-grandsons, Gregg and Bradley Galbreath, all of Pennsylvania and a brother, W. L. Chavis of West Columbia, a special niece (in-law) Tracy Jumper of Swansea and numerous nieces and nephews.
