Mitchell Dowd, 86, of Gaston, SC, died Saturday, July 18, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating.Burial will be private. Mr. Dowd was born in Swansea, SC a son of the late Lonnie Beacham and Henrietta Watts Dowd. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Pearl Chavis Dowd; four children, Curtis Dowd, Gwen D. Campbell, Debbie D. Spires and Mark B. Dowd; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Doddle Dowd and sister, Ruth Furtick.
