Mr. Addison was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late John J. and Corina Sturkie Addison. He was the owner of North Farm Center where he was extremely dedicated and devoted to his customers. Robert loved to make people laugh and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Bull Swamp Baptist Church and also the Army National Guard.
Robert was the kind of father every child dreams of — patient, encouraging, and endlessly supportive. He led by example, teaching not just through words but through actions: how to love unconditionally, how to work hard without losing joy, and how to find humor even in life’s hardest moments. His children were his greatest pride and every milestone they reached was a victory he celebrated with unmatched enthusiasm.
To his friends, Robert was more than just company — he was a rock, a confidant and often the one who could turn an ordinary day into a memory worth keeping. Whether sharing a laugh around the table, lending an ear in difficult times, or showing up without being asked, he embodied the rare gift of true friendship.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Brenda Wiles Addison; children, Marcia Addison (Bill) Brandhorst and Robert Lewis (Jennifer) Addison; grandchildren, James Michael (Taylor) Phillips, Matthew Brandon (Trish) Phillips, Crystal (Trey) Carden, Ashley Nicole Addison (Josh Sullivan) and Parker Addison; great grandchildren, Hailey Phillips, Molly Carden and Acacia Addison; and siblings, Mary Courtney, Barbara Holliday and Joe Addison. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Manning Addison, Sr.
Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
