Thesa Windes Schostag

Thesa Windes Schostag, 77, of Gaston, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Culler McAlhany Funeral Home in North. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at First Baptist Church of North.

Mrs. Schostag was born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, a daughter of the late Erby and Delores Windes. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North, Neeses Volunteer Fire Department, E.M.T. for Orangeburg County and a public-school teacher. She enjoyed coaching little league baseball and being a football statistician. Thesa was also a member of American Legion Post 82 in Navarre Beach, Florida.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John Charles Schostag, Sr.; children, John Charles Schostag, Jr., Bobby Joe (Katie) Schostag, Theda D. (Ricky) Schostag and Amanda O'Malley; grandchildren, Haley Toole, Jonathan Schostag, Ashley Kimmerlin, David Schostag, Emily Hand, Dominique Edgemon, Damien Schostag, Karen Schostag, Brianna Lynn Schostag, Shanna Nicole Bozard, Tristen Mckenzie Rucker and Dillon Rucker; and great-grandchildren, Micah, Delilah and Ashley. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Eddie Windes.
