Wayne Heyward Watts

Wayne Heyward Watts, 82, of Gaston, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 2, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Gaston with Rev. Brady Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Gaston on Monday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Watts was born in Lexington County, a son of the late Samuel Morgan and Lila Mae Reynolds Watts. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandpa. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gaston. Wayne was an avid fisherman and loved his dogs Carley and Bella. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Shirley Griggs Watts; sons, Dwayne (Regina) Watts, Gaines Kelly and Kinley Clark; a stepdaughter, Heather Haas (Troy); step-grandchildren, Chase (Tiffany) Haas and Skylar Haas; a step-great grandson, Kohen Haas; brother, Jimmy (Sandra) Watts; and a sister, Brenda Prevatte; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Joanne Goodwin Watts; brother, Marion Watts; and sisters, Emily Baughman, Jeanette Webber and Marilyn Jeffcoat. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gaston 121 Oakey Springs Drive, Gaston, SC 29053. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
